Inspiration

Before becoming an artist, I was a biologist. My interests and inspiration have always revolved around Nature ... ever changing, full of life, and an endless source of creativity, color, and balanced compositions. Life eventually brought me to Malaysia where I was exposed to the spontaneous, expressive character and visual aesthetics of Ink Painting, also known as sumi-e. I was immediately captured by it, by the way that the clear forms and the emptiness of space dance with each other to convey soul, spirit and life all at once.

Through my art, I hope to inspire you to open your eyes, to reignite a sense of wonder when exposed to nature's simplicity and cleverness, and to convey the presence of eternal quiet.

There is so much power in just feeling our own insignificance when we are surrounded by nature. How deserving of life we can be when we honor this beauty that owes us nothing.
